Telkom Kenya white labels Blipply’s merchant platform under the name T-kash Soko

Nairobi / Stockholm: Telkom Kenya, one of Kenya’s leading telecommunications and digital services providers, and Blipply AB, the Swedish fintech company building the next generation of self managed digital dollar financial infrastructure, today announce a strategic white-label partnership. Under the agreement, Telkom Kenya will deploy Blipply’s full merchant commerce platform under the brand T-kash Soko, targeting the vast informal merchant economy across Kenya.

Kenya’s informal sector represents the backbone of the national economy, with millions of micro and small merchants operating across markets, streets and communities nationwide. Despite their scale and economic contribution, the vast majority of these businesses operate without access to affordable digital commerce tools, formal payment infrastructure or the financial data needed to grow. T-kash Soko is designed to change that.

T-kash Soko: a complete commerce platform for informal merchants

T-kash Soko, powered by Blipply’s merchant infrastructure, provides informal businesses with a full-stack commerce and financial management suite at no subscription fee. The platform includes a point-of-sale system, the T-kash Soko Marketplace for online selling, real-time business reporting, customer relationship management, multi-outlet management and employee payroll in digital dollars.

Merchants can accept digital payments, manage inventory, track sales in real time and access a complete view of their business performance from a single app on their phone. The platform is designed to work in low-connectivity environments and is accessible on Android, reflecting the reality of how informal merchants operate across Kenya.

Phased rollout beginning Nairobi Q1 2026

T-kash Soko will launch in Nairobi in Q1 2026, targeting the city’s dense network of informal market traders, street vendors, kiosks and service providers. Nairobi serves as the launch hub for a national rollout strategy, with expansion to additional Kenyan cities and regions planned throughout 2026 and into 2027.

Telkom Kenya’s existing infrastructure, distribution network and customer relationships across Kenya provide T-kash Soko with a significant go-to-market advantage, enabling rapid merchant onboarding at a scale that would be difficult to achieve through direct market entry alone. Merchant onboarding is designed to take minutes, requiring only a phone and a brief identity verification process.
